Here’s How You Can Get 15% Cash Back This Week From Some Big Online Stores - NextAdvisor

We want to help you make more informed decisions. Some links on this page — clearly marked — may take you to a partner website and may result in us earning a referral commission. For more information, see How We Make Money.

During the week from May 10 to May 17, you can save a lot of money at some major retailers, thanks to a promotion by cash back portal Rakuten.

During Rakuten's "Big Give Week," several major shopping sites will be offering 15% cash back. That's a lot more than the 1% to 5% cash back you can usually get by using Rakuten.

Pro Tip

Install the Rakuten plug in in your web browser to be notified when cash back is available at any given retailer.

Retailers offering the elevated 15% cash back during the week include Walgreens, Office Depot, Intermix and Forever 21. A Rakuten spokesperson says there will be more than 500 retailers participating in the promotion.

How to Take Advantage of the Rakuten Cash Back Promotion

You'll first have to create a free Rakuten account, where your cash back will be deposited. If you then install Rakuten's browser plugin, when you are on a partner retailer's site where you can earn cash back the plugin will light up. Click the plugin to activate the offer, and cash back will automatically be deposited into your Rakuten account after your purchase.

You can also visit Rakuten's website or download the app to check out the deals. Once you find one you like and click on your desired store, you will be redirected to the retailer's website. Like with the browser plug in, cash back will  be added automatically to your account after your purchase.

Every quarter, Rakuten will send you a check or make a PayPal payment with your cash back. It's that easy.

There's nothing else you need to do to take advantage of these 15% cash back savings. This is sure to be a welcome offer for many people who are looking to save money on essential and non-essential goods.

Rakuten is a partner of American Express, and you can also earn Amex Membership Rewards points through the portal, too. We recognize, though, that saving money and getting cash back may be a bigger priority for many right now than earning points for future, free travel.

But whatever your personal finance priorities, this promotion can provide a quick, easy and effective way to get a whopping 15% cash back on some of your upcoming online shopping purchases.
